Carlos Fabra, president of the Castellón County Council, stated that although the province currently has just three golf courses (La Coma, Costa Azahar and Panorámica), 16 new installations have been presented. Fabra underlined that if the environmental groups "allow" them and the Regional Department of the Environment “works hard” “it is possible” that in a short time “Castellón could be a golf destination” thanks to its airport and to the fact that it has “became involved” in the world of golf.
To Fabra, the tourism industry is “important” and golf holds "the first place," for which he thanked the Department for “its effort” in awarding Castellón this event, which is “a fair prize to the number of specialists in Castellón.”
